The Pickers Picnic is a Georgia Music Industry Association (GMIA) sponsored event. Georgia singers and songwriters would come together for a day of fun in the sun with great music and food. We just took the business out of the music and just socialized and had fun. You might say it is a family reunion for the music professionals. The event included a car show, hay ride, horseback rides and more. Some songwriters met for the first time at one of these events to only return the next year to perform a song that they wrote together. What an event.
